In regards to self-love, there is nothing selfish about it at all. It is a foolish person who discriminates with love.
We can love the beggar no less than we love the self; it is in our treatment of the beggar that we find the treatment of ourselves. You see, love is. It has always been; it will always be. We then, are conduits for love not possessors of it. We must let it pass though us, freely, to all. This is not just a nice thing to do, it is critical our existence. When we keep love flowing through us without discrimination, the purity of it cleans the arteries of our being. When we contaminate this love with our discrimination the sediments of our actions cause a blockage from a divine self. The beggar give us an opportunity to be whole. Who is your beggar today?
Pass it on to the first person you think about.
